2020 AoPS Convention Hello! Due to the unfortunate cancellation of the 2020 FAMAT State Convention, we decided to create the 2020 AoPS Convention! This convention features three divisional individual tests for Mu (up to Calc), Alpha (up to Pre-calc/Trig), and Theta (up to Alg2/Geo). This time, we will have 3 topic tests for each division, and 3 open tests (Stats, Number Theory, and Chem). No calculators allowed, except for Open Chemistry and Open Statistics, which will require a scientific calculator (graphing calculators not permitted). We will also probably have a bowl for each division (sum of the top four individual scores from a school/team) and sweepstakes (sum of the T-scores in respective topics and 9 times the bowl T-scores). Disputes will be done with private messaging on Art of Problem Solving, as there is LaTeX support. It is recommended that you write your equations in LaTeX for your disputes, but it is not mandatory. Additional information will be posted a week before the competition is released. Just wanted to get that out there. Have a great, long spring break, and keep doing math! |

2019 AoPS Convention Hello! I hope you all are having a great summer so far! We are going to be releasing a competition unique to the other two competitions we have hosted in the past. This one will consist of three divisions: Mu, Alpha, and Theta. Mu is anything up to Calculus level, Alpha is anything up to Precalculus level, and Theta is anything up to Algebra 2/Geometry level. Alpha and Theta will each have two topic tests. There will be Theta Applications, Theta Logs & Exponents, Alpha Analytic Geometry, and Alpha Complex Number Theory. Unfortunately, due to the lack of Mu topic test writers, we will not have any Mu topic tests. However, there will be two open tests as well, Open Chemistry and Open History of Math. No calculators allowed, except for Open Chemistry, which will require a scientific calculator (graphing calculators not permitted). Disputes will be done with private messaging on Art of Problem Solving, as there is LaTeX support. It is recommended that you write your equations in LaTeX for your disputes, but it is not mandatory. Additional information will be posted the day of the competition. Thank you and stay mathtastic! |
